There are always trendy jobs for romance novel heroes and heroines to have, like spies, cops, firemen. What are some of the more unusual jobs you've come across in your romance novel reading?

I have yet to read it, but in The Law and the Lady by Wilkie Collins the heroine, Valeria Woodville, learns different things about her husband's earlier life, takes the law into her own hands, and becomes a sleuth! It seems to me to have a touch of feminism to it, in a way.
