Multicolored Fabric: cut four 4 1/4" strips (width of fabric) and cut 40 4 1/2” squares I understand the 40 4 1/2" squares, but the 4 1/4" strips don't make sense as the borders use the solid fabric. Should this maybe be 4 and 1/2" strips, then cut them into the 40 4 1/2" squares?

HiFlorisotaNC, not knowing which pattern you're referring to - I would say you a right- it should be 4 1/2" strips to cut 4 1/2" squares.

Can you let me know what pattern you are referring to and if it's one of mine, I'll fix it straight away.
