Hatha Yoga exercises is one of the 8 divisions and is designed for cleaning the body and soothing the mind. Moving through positions and doing wind control generally make up the most of a hatha yoga class.Hatha Yoga is used in groundwork for subsequent stages of the route which include meditation and contemplation.

Venitiz, I have been a yoga teacher for 12 years and am very familiar with your post topic. Hatha Yoga is the 3rd limb of the 8 limbs of ashthanga yoga. The entire 8 limbs are:

Yama Social morality
Niyama Personal ethics
Asanas Body postures - (Hatha yoga)
Pranayama Breathing exercises, and control of prana
Pratyahara Control of the senses
Dharana Concentration and cultivating inner perceptual awareness
Dhyana Devotion, Meditation on the Divine
Samadhi Union with the Divine
