Revisiting Family Lines

This week's article discusses the importance of revisiting family lines you have set aside when hitting brick walls. You also need to broaden your searches and databases.

I also give tips on using databases that you might not be able to subscribe to.

Let us know about any successes or new databases that have helped you in your family research.

Tina, I have often done that over the years. It can be frustrating when you cannot seem to move forward. The best thing to do is put the research down and pick up another line and with fresh eyes begin reviewing your notes and see if new ideas emerge.

I was visiting Find A Grave to look at my great-grandmother's stone. Since my last visit, somebody had added her obituary. It contained her father's name. I have been looking for this for years! A name like Hunt is not rare, so it's been a long journey looking for this one!

What a lucky find! Isn't Fina-a-Grave amazing? You never know what someone might post on that site. Keep us posted on how your research goes.
