yea when he's like down/dead/broken whatever u call it flee and run towards the beach than it'll chase u but after fitin it a couple of times u'll reach the beach and see a nice FMV of Quistis shooting it down

The only place you can really kill the spider is on the bridge. All other places he repairs himself and keeps after you. Remember to save the dog by the way, will make your ranking higher in the long run.

You have to get to the beach within 2 minutes, beat 75 people before entering the Dollet Communication tower, save the doggy, and don't use any GF's in the fight with Elvoret <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> and more thingy's but I forgot <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

That's not true you CAN kill that thing with out having to use flee. Okay let me set everyone straight. You can kill the spider over and over, and the bettle will be over and you get 20 ap for it. But it will alsways come after you on the next screen! The only place you can kill it "for good" so to speak is on the bridge.

Here is how the seed rank works.. it's determined based on certain actions first is your conduct.


CONDUCT
this is the dollet mission. It's based on how much time you have left on the clock when you get to the beach

25:00 + = 100 points
24:59 ` 24:00 = 90 points
23:59 ` 23:00 = 80
22:59 ` 20:00 = 70
19:59`19:00 = 60
18:50 to 17:00 = 50
16:59 to 15:00 = 40
14:59 to 10:00 = 30
9:59 to 6:00 = 20
5:59 to 3:00 = 10
everything else = 0

Then there is judegement

JUDGEMENT
this is the fire cavern thing where you get ifrit. The less amount of time on the clock when you kill him the higher your score will be

0 to 0:07 100 points
0:08 to 0:29 90
0:30 to 0:59 80
1:00 to 1:50 70
2:00 to 2:59 = 60
3:00 to 9:59 = 50
10:00 to 10:50 = 40
11:00 to 11:59 = 30
12:00 to 12:59 = 20
13:00 to 13:59 = 10
14:00 to 14:59 = 5
15:00 + = 0

You get points for attacks, but keep in mind that the spider only counts for one attack not ten.

enemies defeated
75+ = 100 points
25-74 = 80
15-24 = 50
10-14 = 20
9 and under = 0

You get points for the number of times you excape the spider instead of fighting him (this means excape him on the screen and not even engage him in a battle. There are tricks to some areas and I can tell them to you if you need them

times excaped
1 = 100
2 = 70
3-4 = 50
5-9 = 30
10 = 0

Other things cause deductions....
#1 during the feild exam you are not to talk to anyone. You talk to people and you get one point deduction per conversation. If you talk to biggs, you loose two points.

#2 One point for each time you try to head towards the communication tower before seifer command syou to

#3 five points for each time you use selphies shortcut and jump off the cliff
#4 ten points if you fail to save the dog during excape from spider
#5 if you run into the cafe to excape the monster you loose 20 points...

total deductions
0 = 100 points
1-8 = 80
9-13 = 70
14-17 = 50
18-24=30
25+ = 10

Once you've been assigned a rank, you can accesst he TEST section in the tutorial. This will let you take tests to raise your seed rank. It's a lot easier than you think. If you get stuck on a test let me know and I"ll tell youthe correct answers.

lol!I always get a [censored] SeeD level!!hehe!I've killed that damn metal spider-there is a method.The only place to kill it, like jess says, is on the bridge.On the other fights on the way to the bridge u have to flee as soon as u can, then at the bridge u can take it on+kick it's [censored]!!It does keep rebuilding itself but if ur built up enuff u will get him!

personally i think it's cooler to run then to beat it but, if the item you get from it is worth missing that FMV then......

You get twenty ap for each time you beat and kill him, and then you get an extra 100 points towards your seed rank.

i don't think igot anything that special-it was just cool 2 kill it.You get ap+stuff tho.
I still got the cinematic at the end, but a lot of people say they didn't.I'm probably geting confused again!!it probably isn't worth beating it if u don't get quistis+her gun!
