Dave.....I agree with what you have said in your last posts. First of all, a person can do whatever he or she sets themselves out to do. Human beings can accomplish so much, even things that many can't even imagine doing. It is all about looking within and finding the strength to do what is needed or what is desired. All of us have the power. We just need to tap into it.
As for words.....yes, I feel the same in that sometimes after I write something the words almost seem inadequate. What I thought described my intent can either be misunderstood or not exactly accurate as to how I felt at the time. It is often difficult to put feelings and thoughts into words as it is, and some feelings or intentions can't be described accurately in words at all.
The spoken word can be a little more accurate, as voice inflection, facial expression, and body gestures can also add emphasis. And Burt is right, some words when spoken can cut right to the bone. It is all in the deliverance of those words.
Great topic, Dave. Perhaps we should take this to my other thread "Welcome - A Place to Talk and Share" for further discussion. This thread is dedicated to the Goddess, so I opened up the other thread for various spiritual and philosophical discussions. If you don't mind I will place a copy of your post there so that others can view it and comment on it. What do you think?

If it's O.K. I would like to share about the spiritual side of my familys relationship with the great Mother. We came from a small group of people that did not allow a god of greed, power, or corruption to rule our lives. Yeh we were not perfect. We were basically no different than others except maybe in our perceptions.
All around us fear drove the masses in an attempt to live by a perceptual code of ethics that that neither God himself nor mankind were capable of living by. Always striving to attain and yet never accomplishing.
The message that was all around us was,"You need to be like us, you are wrong and we are right! God is on our side!" If that truly were the case then why did none of us enlightened want to be anything like those that spoke such ignorant division? They themselves had no understanding of where they trod and being lost in a illusion of their own creation they knew no better.
When we learned new truths we could not share them with others because the light was too bright and they risked being exposed. We remained silent yet over centuries we gained perfectly preserved power and strength as She showed us the true condition of the heart of mankind. When an entire culture has issues with fear and insecurities it is easy to follow a leader whether corrupt or not.
We did not know any of the Salem witch trial victims but we did have our own problems with people around us that judged us by their own self-righteousness.
I have used the word "witch" when it came to certain members within the family but one must understand that that name was given to us by others. We did not invent the word. When however we saw how desperate and devoid of conscience many were around us and how, even though not perfect, we maintained a desire for the betterment of ourselves and humanity, the name stuck.
I am proud of it not because of an attempt to try to be "different" from others, but of the fact that we know exactly who we are and have for many centuries. We did not have the need to be someone special, to be seen, to be adored above all others, or even to have our way or will. We simply wanted to just flow with that great river called "life".
We were temporary, still are.
It doesn't matter if anybody remembered us when we were gone. We wanted everybody to know who they truly were when they were alive.
We never did think like so many others did. We did know however what it was to make it in the most dire of circumstances.
When we were persecuted we found that there was an underlying cause for it. We knew who we were. That is a great light and an offense to the deceptive. Those that thrust the sword did so only because of what they thought that they must do, having no concept of the condition of their own soul. Even in death we were secure within ourselves
The greatest of all things is becoming the most inconsequential. The rejected and despised, the remnant, and the true seeker, are replacing what was once revered.
We could have so much in this country if we weren't so damn spoiled. We have everything except ourselves and each other.
The great Mother has shown us a different perception coupled with the possibility of a beneficial change on all fronts.
There is nothing that we cannot be or accomplish in life and the greatest flow in this great river called life involves taking others with us to our fullness here and into eternity.
Blessed Be Her name in the universe. She is worthy.
