Inexpensive Gadgets for the Healthy Kitchen

Nice list - I like the advice about getting a kitchen scale for portioning out stuff. Right now my favorite gadget is a rocket blender (small, 16-oz size I think) - it is easier to clean and lets me whip up a smoothie with less mess. Someone also gave me a meat thermometer that has a wire so the thermometer is in the oven and the reader is outside. I like it because I don't have to open the oven to check a roast with small kids around - they would always try to look & get to close while the hot oven door is open!
