Christmas Pudding is traditionally made on the Sunday before Advent. This was called "Stir-Up Sunday", which came from the old customs in England and is still commonly referred to by that name in the United Kingdom.

This recipe is very old and time consuming, but, well worth the effort.

Christmas Pudding - Traditional Recipe

Every cook has his or her own special touches to making this pudding, so there are as many recipes for it as there are cooks. And keep in mind, this is not an actual pudding, but a heavy bread-like dessert.

If you make a Christmas Pudding, I would love to hear from you about any variations in ingredients.

And, I love feedback, so all comments are welcome. Thank you! smile

I don't think I'd have the time to undertake this recipe but it sure is a fascinating dessert. Thanks for sharing this!

You are welcome, Debbie.

You might like to try the Trifle, or Tipsy Cake recipes. The Tipsy Cake is very easy and uses up leftover cake. Very good stuff!
