Apparently it is now important that you name your Google Circles with meaningful names. They actually affect peoples' rankings. So rather than having entries of "friends" and "family" - think about what the people do. Have entries for "web content writer" and "kindle authors" and "technical professional" and "graphic designer".

So let's all help each other out, with links and circles!

Post your profile link here, and a circle name or two that relates to what you do.

So when we post on Google Plus, do people other then our circles see the posts. I'm not sure how "public" public is.

Google is using this information to alter their Google search results. So the entire world is going to see altered search results based on how well you use Google +. Google also features Google + posts as results in their search results.

Quick question on opinion. Do you think it is more beneficial to post articles here or to try and get conversations going like Facebook? Do "conversations" help with rankings?

Apparently ALL posts everywhere no matter what you do benefit greatly if they get responses. I.e. you should never make a post that intends to get zero responses. All ranking systems give a post more weight if people are responding to and sharing it. So always try to phrase your social networking entries to draw in responses and forwards.

So yes absolutely post articles. And do it in a way that encourages people to chime in with their thoughts.

I have done google searches that have turned up these forum threads -with their article links in the posts, but not the original articles themselves. That taught me the value of making forum posts. If google is making Googleplus searchable, than it would make sense it would get better rankings if it had more response.
