We've been watching Bones from the beginning, and we like the characters a lot.

I'm curious if anyone has noticed recently that they've had quite bizarre montage sequences, with super-upbeat modern music, about 3/4 of the way into each episode now. Why?? It feels completely out of character with the rest of the show. Are they trying to showcase musical artists, maybe for a payment? They're definitely getting a little heavy-handed with their product placement.

Although I've never watched Bones I've heard nothing but good things about the show. Is this the last season?

I imagine like most shows that once the main characters "hooked up" that some of the spark was gone. They tried to get past that "curse" but I'm not sure it worked.
