Now Granpappy is gonna rip and tear a new one! Ol' Molly cross the holler told me to just "jest take one day at a time - he will calm down and stabilize when he comes back from up the hill."

Molly otta know what she's talkin' bout -- she has been around a long time. Why - she has been around since heck was a pup.

We get so few trick-or-treaters (TOTS) that I know all the ones who come to the door. Last year I got only six.

My brother, who lives six blocks away gets about 80. That number is down from over 150 just two years ago.

Is trick-or-treating a fading tradition? How many TOTS do you get each year?

We're not sure how many little one's we will get this year. This is our first year in our new home. But we're looking forward to it. Wow, 150 is awesome. Sounds like our neighborhood in Florida many years ago. The kid had thirty gallon trash bags full of candy. Amazing.

It really is a shame that people spend so much money on candy for the kids at Halloween when parents have to throw away most of it.

Our church collects extra candy from our kids for an unsafe community in the area where kids can't go trick or treating. A church in that neighborhood disperses the candy to the kids.

That is a good idea, Violette. Many churches have been doing that for the last several years. It is much safer for the kids.
