A recent study finds that meditating even a short while each day reduces your risk of a heart attack significantly -

boston.com report on meditation

I'm all in favor of more people meditating!

Edit to fix link - does it work now?

The link that Lisa posted is no longer active but how could meditation not help the physical heart, when it opens the inner spiritual heart to the divine unconditional love within every atom of existence!

I say "Just Love All" and let the dross fall away. With Thanksgiving Day in less than a week it is time to rely more on our roots of love than clench our muscles, including our heart muscle, in negativity.

OK please try now, does the new link work?

I agree completely that releasing anger and negativity is so important in life. Life is too short as it is. We should embrace joy and compassion while we are here!

This information doesn't come as a surprise to me because meditation is very relaxing and acts like a reset button. This is good news and I hope more people will meditate on a regular basis. There are so many great benefits to be had.

Debbie, you are so right! I meditate several times a day at strategic points when I need to recharge deeply. My deepest times are an hour after lunch and for the daily cyber meditation which for me is 8pm.

I also agree with you Debbie. Now, everyone should have to start doing meditation daily.
