Hi - I guess it would depend on what you mean by "marred". If the candle's outer surface is tearing when you pull it out then it probably means the candle has not cooled completely. If there are pits or bubbles, you may have added too much fragrance oil for your wax type. If there are lines around the candle, you could be pouring your wax too cold or your mold was cold. Some of these imperfections can be fixed by buffing them with a scrap piece of an old pair of nylons or you could carefully heat the surface with a heat gun. Additionally, if your molds are new, they may not be seasoned. Make sure they are clean and that you have used enough spray mold release.
