LOL. GREAT article, Connie! Your blitz list reminded me of how our family would "blitz" the house before company arrived. Everyone had a task (trash, dusting, bathrooms, laundry, books, etc.) and we would rush about taking care of our duty. We truly saw the meaning of 'many hand make light work.' Everyone felt as though he contributed in a meaningful way--and in a manner that really wasn't a hard labor---and the results were something to feel proud of.
And then, your motto of "clean what can be seen" reminded me of this story of a friend of a friend whose in-laws were coming over for an unexpected visit. Her house was a mess, her sink was overflowing with dirty dishes. So she shoved them all into the dishwasher and the oven (there must have been quite a pile!)
Anyway, her mother-in-law brought over a frozen pizza and needed to use her oven. Yikes!
