I was wondering if anyone out there has suffered from Trichotillomania. If so, did you manage to overcome it or does it still cause a problem?

I started to show signs of Trichotillomania when I was 16 and even now, the symptoms surface periodically but as it comes and goes, it has been difficult to establish what flares up an episode.

Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome the hair pulling routine and should I see a doctor about it?

I have never know any one who suffers from this. I would talk to a doctor about this if it becomes bothersome. Before you start noticing thinning or balding hair I would find a doctor that could help you manage your episodes.
