I have not--yet. Yesterday, the neighborhood transformer blew up and no one had electricity for more than 24-hours and let me tell you it was like Armageddon. It seemed ridiculous to me since we have, well let's see, the SUN, candles, gas stove, books and each other! But my tech dependent family went stir crazy.
To be fair, my husband has an IT business as well as a reef tank so he was not happy without electricity. He could have taken his tablet to a wi-fi hotspot like Starbucks but nooooo...
Anyway, I just bought groceries so I was stuck bags of ice in the refrigerators. The crews worked throughout the night and dug in the ground to replace cables. We had electricity again just after noon. Thank goodness because I didn't want to abandon our house just to flock to places with light. I felt like a moth. He took us out to dinner and then to my sister's house. When we got back home, he and the kids decided there was "nothing to do" except go to bed.
Weird.
I stayed up and read with a book light.
Anyhoo, after we eat up what I already purchased, I will make the steak sandwiches. I'll go through your list of ideas and choose one.
