What are your favorite books to read during the winter holiday season? Are they classics or lesser-known family favorites? Newer books? Books for children? Were the books turned into movies?

Heidi, I enjoy culinary myteries and romance holiday novels. Both genres are soft and enjoyable. With culinary mysteries, you get good recipes, along with your murder. One of my favorite authors is Cleo Coyle, she gives readers mocha coffee, murder and holiday joy; and a cute honey.:)

I love cozy mysteries as well - with a holiday twist. Have lately enjoyed not only culinary but also knitting and pet themed mysteries.

I have not read any pet themed cozies, but will look for them. This weekend, I will be looking for a good Thanksgiving mystery.

Here is a good list of "cozy" mystery books for adults (mentioned in above thread) just in time for the holidays. Holiday Mystery book list

These are usually available at my local library.

Do you have any other favorite holiday books for kids or adults?
