I don't mind sampling the pies and turnovers, Phyllis. They sound delicious.
Granpappy is always up to something, and if it has anything to do with food you can bet he does not waste. I bet he is squirreling away some of them berries to make a nice concoction to fill a bunch of them jugs of his.

I am back! I took out another one of Phyllis' lovely balloons and ended up in California. What a ride! The coast was gorgeous.
Now to get started with some raspberry shrub for a quicky, and raspberry champagne for the long term. I think it would be super pretty with bubbles.
Do you like dry or sweet?

Jilly! Welcome back, it is good to have you here again. How was your little sabbatical? I love the west coast and really miss it. We sure missed you around here -- the ol' porch just is not the same without you. Raspberry shrub on a green salad is very tasty! I like my champagne a little on the sweet side. Ol' Granpappy sure is going to be happy to see you. Seems he and Beetle are cooking up some upcoming Halloween tricks on us gals, so be on the lookout for them sneaking around with who knows what on their minds.

Welcome back, Jilly! We've missed you around here.
Phyllis is right.....there's a lot going on with the guys, and we gals have got to band together and get prepared. There's no tellin' what Halloween tricks they have up their sleeves....

Autumn has definitely come to the hills and mountains around here. The fresh crispness is in the air, the warmth of the sun is cozier than the heat of the summer, and the nights are chilly.
Beautiful autumn!

The nights and mornings have gotten a bit chilly here in the northeast as well. Autumn has definitely arrived. In a way I like it because I prefer this weather over heat and humidity, but in a way I am reminded of what is on the way in a few short months. Winter.....not looking forward to it....
I will do my best to enjoy this fall season.

We are still having bright, sunny days and the air is quite chilly at times.
I just made some apple-blackberry dumplings for dessert tonight at my brother's home.
