As a stress management specialist, when I had to evacuate my home due to Hurricane Sandy it was time to heed my own advice and deal with the extreme stress of a hurricane and Nor'easter combined!
I have learned many lessons about self-care and moving forward to rebuild. Storms may wreak havoc on property and possessions and innundate us with grief, but also fill us up with the resolve to move forward without releasing our stern inner critic about what we should have done. Hope and resiliency propel us forward. There is strength in the numbers of our neighbors and our ability to share our stories - which we do control when we control little else.
I realized that I am hooked on technology and have regained more of my natural rhythm. Speaking of technology, when I wrote up my perceptions and advice as stress management editor,I realized that I could not log on to the editor site because the url was embedded in my desk top computer which is home alone in the dark - unusuable.
Lisa, if you are reading this, could you email me the url.
