I think I had on many petticoats under my best dress .... actually, I do not rightly 'member.
You sure had a lot of birthday cakes, Beetle. Debbie and I were baking till the early morning hours. Seems like Frank and Jesse sure ate a lot, and danced with every gal.
I got so tuckered out dancing the Polka with Granpappy till we fell off the porch.... I woke up in the petunia patch.
Beetle, you must have another birthday soon. Great party!!!!

Out of all those cakes we baked there is not a crumb to be had right now. I think we all greatly indulged in one form or another at Beetle's party.
And yes, Phyllis, I can attest to the fact that you had on many petticoats under your dress, and thank goodness. You were really kicking up your heels!

There is a bad hurricane due to hit the northeast in a matter of hours. I won't be around here for a while if we lose our electricity, which is pretty likely. I know Beetle's area is in the line of the storm too. I hope we all don't fare too badly. I will come back to the porch when I can to give an update.

Thanks, Phyllis.
The winds here near Long Island Sound will gust to 80-90 mph in the hours of this afternoon, this evening, and tomorrow morning. We will lose power for sure, and homes along the shore could be swept out to sea. The threat is of the likes that we have never seen in southern New England. We won't get the brunt of the rain, but the wind will cause major coastal flooding, trees down, and other damage.
The wind gusts are already bad. I am ready to pack my cooler to use so that I can keep my fridge door closed once the power is out. I don't have much to preserve but hopefully I can keep some of it fresh.
I am as prepared as I am going to be..... I just hope the trees stay up and that none of them wind up on the house. Scary....
Thanks for the good energy. I will get back to the porch when I can to update. I hope Beetle will be ok too. For Burt, the storm is done.

Keep up your strength and faith, Debbie.
I am sure Beetle will be fine, it looks like his home is just on the outskirts of the storm.
I hope he does not take this opportunity to go puddle-jumping, one of his favorite past times.
Take care and stay warm.
