Stand back everyone -- she needs some leg room. Granpappy has invited the dance hall gal, too!

....................HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEETLE....................

This train is just approaching Garmisch Partenkirchen where you were last year, and those are your mountains in the background.

Am not sure if you traveled by rail to the other areas you visited, although it is a great idea at that time of year because of the views, but do know you had no snow, nonetheless hope this photo brings back some good memories..............and perhaps the next time you visit there really will be a white carpet to greet you.

Except of course if you decide to vacation during the summer. cool

Have a great day!!!

Shhh... Trying to keep a low-profile. If I don't recognize/celebrate it, does that mean I won't grow older???

That's what Granpappy told me as he was slipping cash to the extra gals that showed up.

Frank & Jesse are very welcome to stay. I have a couple things to ask them; for my paternal grandfather that was named after relatives that rode with the James Gang out of Kearney in Clay County, Missouri. My parents met & wed in the area before heading west...

Awwww... the Zugspitze & Alpspitze - those were my mountains for a few days in early December & I'd go back in a heartbeat. I'd gladly come back for snow & maybe hop over to Austria to try out for a Krampus role...

Thanks, all.... Today's been a pretty quiet & great day

My gosh, Beetle, the James brothers are distant cousins of mine. That means yours and my relatives rode together in the past. How awesome is that?

I do wish the very best to you for your special day. If you do choose to ignore it, you will stay forever young at heart. smile

& the kids brought in 2 cakes last night. Let the porch visitors *pig* out, I may not need the extra calories/sugars.

Son tried to bake a German Chocolate, but it crumbled as he tried to iced it... He went commercial.

Daughter brought over raspberry ice cream cake from Coldstone.

Kids know me well... Raspberries & the generic coconut frosting for the German Chocolate. I'd rather have all coconut frosting, not the mixture that commercial bakeries do. But then can't be choosy when not directly involved in the process - just do it yourself!

I am still tryin' to clean up around here after all the hoopla. I can't believe how many of them dancin' gals showed up. Granpappy sure knows a lot of them, and what a show they all put on last night!

Wasn't just the dancing gals... Seems like a few of the Porch gals let Granpappy's cider get the best of them & they started high kickin' themselves.
