Don't know what to do with that old embroidery hoop? Turn it into a card holder. I just made one for my mom who is in a nursing home so she had somewhere to display the cards she recieves. (Her bulletin board is too small) To create you will need a 14" hoop, and enough wooden clothespins spaced 1 1/2inches apart secured with wood glue. Attach preetty ribbon bow to hang...Viola!!! Embroidery hoops also make great frames for your stitching as well - especially if the picture is round. You can either paint them, wrap them with fabric or ribbon or leave them natural.

Even better, you can easily take the stitching out to clean it periodically!

On the down side you will need to remove the piece, and re-tension it in the hoop occasionally.
