While most consider dandelions a weed that needs to be demolished, the majority of the public arent considering the huge health benefit this herb has to our overall health. Next time you consider killing this beneficial plant, try adding it to your daily diet instead, you might be suprised.

This is great information. I had no idea how good these little plants are for us. I used to give young dandelion leaves to my parrot, and she loved eating them.

Thank you Debbie, at least your parrot was in good health! :-)

I hope that more people will realize the huge health benefit this so-called "weed" has. They can be virtually life savers!

My husband and I gave up coffee drinking and now drink a beverage called Dandy Blend, which has dandelion in it. It's delicious.

Have you ever tried making dandelion wine? I had a friend who did it and it tasted great. When we lived in the country, I picked dandelions to eat but now, living in the city, I don't know what might be on them.

I often do an herbal cleanse in the spring time by taking dandelion supplements.

Thank you kindly BoomerGal for your comments. I know a few people who made Dandelion Wine, though I never tried it as I heard it was bitter. Perhaps I should have now. :-)

I am on my "fall" cleanse right now and love dandelions as part of that.

It is scary when you don't know where your food came from. Although I just found out that buying organic might just be a waste of money...sad to say. (This might lead me to an article of some sort.)

I buy from a farm a couple miles from me and even though she uses no pesticides or chemicals, her cows are all "natural" fed, she will not say she is organic because of the farmer spraying his fields a few miles down from her. Scary.
