In late September, Jason Morgan actor Steve Burton will be leaving daytime. Apparently he is pursuing other acting/directing/producing interests and is moving the family to a farm in Tennessee. I read this on ImDb the other night.

As you can imagine I am not thrilled. Sure part of me understands that it has been 21 years but another part of me, the part that watches GH mostly because of him, the part that has grown up with him, is very disappointed.

There has been no word yet if his character will be replaced by another actor, killed off, or just in hiding.

My guess, and that is all it is a guess!, is that he will go into hiding briefly and then return with a new face. I just can't imagine the show right now without the character.

Oh, no! Of course I realize that he is a person with other interests and goals. But he is the best part of the show. And if they replace him, it won't be the same. It may be time to hang up watching GH.

I've heard a few rumors that he will stay on until the current storyline concludes and that he may return for special visits but honestly I can't see the network just dropping his storyline.

That being said, they could extend Patrick's as he goes on the hunt for Robin.
