Wow, I have some work to do! My daughter just turned 4 - she recognizes "yes" "no" and "mom" and knows all her letters (but can't write them all yet). But I never thought about some of the tips in your article, like sentence structure and tracing words up & down the page. Guess we will have to be more proactive in our approach to reading. Thanks.

Thanks for the great article!! Here is another quick idea. My preschool aged daughter loves using a highlighter to find certain letters on a printed page. I will ask her to find a designated letter and she will highlight as many as she can find.
