Hi all, my latest article is on the Law of Attraction and Buddhism. Both sets of teachings focus on our thoughts, but there is a difference in emphasis on how and why we work with our thoughts, that I think is very interesting to ponder...would love to hear your views (and if you do not know what Law of Attraction teachings are, I summarize them a bit in the article.)

Lisa, good article and explanation of both concepts and how both aim for peace in our lives.

It can be hard to break the habit of living our lives based on our emotions and thoughts, but it is worth a try. It sounds easier said than done and I am sure it requires a good amount of discipline, but I can see the common sense approach and outcome.

Hi Debbie, yes, and I think it's not so much about breaking the habit of living from our thoughts and emotions, but about not doing so unconsciously. Both approaches ask us to take a look at them and recognize how they shape our lives. But in Buddhism the approach is more on recognizing how they may contribute to our suffering and how we can break that cycle to find peace and joy, while with LOA teachings it's more about consciously changing our thoughts and emotions to manifest a different situation.

Truly the Law of Attraction is without question a philosophy that can assist people towards a freer way of thinking and remove many obstacles. Maybe sometimes we unintentionally incur negative results from things that we do just by the course of daily living. My belief is that if we see what we are sabotaging we can change our speech, actions, or thinking and bring better circumstances into our path. Thank you Lisa for posting about this very beneficial philosophy. dave
