Before I start, I will gently request that any answers not be too technical

I am having trouble uploading and pinning pictures on Pinterest. I downloaded pics from my camera to my laptop. I think I have them saved as jpeg. When I am in pinterest, browse and try to upload my photos all it does is spin, it doesn't actually upload a photo. I was able to upload an article from a website I liked, but am really trying to upload pictures.

Any gently technical assistance would be most appreciated.

Also trying to figure out how to add a cover to my boards. Help!

Hmm.... I think the image size may be too big. What size images are the photos? Do you know? Try to upload smaller photos or resize the images you have & try to upload those on Pinterest. See if that works :-)

As far as board covers, go to your Pinterest home page & just click on your board -- you should get a small pop up that allows you to "Edit Board Cover". Then you can chose the image you wish :-)

Sadhana, Sadhana, Sadhana - You have just saved me! Do you know I've been working on this for the better part of the day? I tried your suggestion and it's working, both the pics and the cover.

One more quick question for now, I'm resizing a few of the pics, but do you know the max pixel size for pics? I don't want to make them too small.

YAY! So glad it worked :-) I have read that Pinterest photos are best at between 550-600 pixels width. The vertical doesnt matter. Here's a good article:

Yes, be careful -- initially Pinterest is very addictive :-) The funny thing is your uploaded photos & images keep getting repinned and circulated even when you are inactive for awhile. I logged on after a few months of zero activity & was shocked to see my # of followers had tripled! So it keeps on working for you 24/7...... gotta love Pinterest :-))

Yup definitely making regular updates seems to help a lot with Pinterest. Also I recommend having the images on a webpage you want to promote, so you're helping to drive traffic to your web projects. I.e. rather than upload them and have them link to nowhere, put them onto a webpage and then link to that webpage.

Thanks for the tip Lisa. I love pinterest. I also recommend adding the app to your iPhone or Android. Then we pin things on the go, or pin pictures that we take on our phone, and add a website link where appropriate.

I would love to add the pinterest app to my android phone. I have to figure how to do that.
