Writing about motherhood - whether for myself or others - helps me face the challenging parts with laughter and joy.

The last few months have been really tense.
I finally realized that I was not taking any time for myself.
So, now, back on track, I have realized that I have to schedule it as I would my children's activities and appointments.
I too feel my time is essential, I call it "putting on my emergency oxygen mask first."
I've started blogging about my balancing act of being a mommy to help lighten my feelings on it as well.
I'm doing much better at it these days.

Blogging is a great way to alleviate the stress of motherhood. I also have a mommy blog that captures some of the funniest (stressful!) moments in motherhood - the things that - when you look back on them, they are hilarious - but, in the moment, they were torturous!!
How old is/are your child/children, Yvonnie?
Don't let that scheduled ME time get taken away....

The whole work/family balance is a chore for me because I work from home and since my son is on crutches I have my temporary office in the main living area (bad I know lol) but it's like I never get done with work - it's always there looming and when I am not working I am caring for the house a toddler and a teen with a broken leg.
I DEF had to schedule time for myself and unfortunately it's ended up being late at night lol - but for my sanity and for me to function well as a mom and in my job(s) I had to do it. I agree with others who have said "me time" is essential.

I decided to schedule "me-time" for 3am - 9am. Looooove it!
I can manage morning rituals, meditate, do yoga, write, go for a 5-6 mile walk/run and take a quick shower, ALONE.
I'm in bed by 9pm now, and that too is wonderful. I spend the day with the girls. I do lots of early preparations for meals now and I do not allow myself any TV time until I have put dinner on the table (I eat lunch with the girls and I set them up for dinner with Dad). Once they are at the table, I retreat to my room, turn on the TV and begin preparing for bed. I help clean the kitchen afterwards and turn everything off at 8:30p for prayer and a settling in.
I feel so much better.
