Was just listening to a TED talk by the scientist who discovered that genes are not the main source of cancer, but rather, the overall structure of that cell's relationships plays the critical role in whether a tumor develops. In short, individual cells pay attention not only to their genetic code, but also to the cells around them and the matrix within which all function. A damaged and potentially cancerous cell placed in a healthy medium with non-cancerous cells, behaves as though it is healthy and does not infect the other cells.
Most of what we call natural laws are scale invariant--that is, the same applies to atoms, leaves on a trees, societies, star systems and the universe. Recent and ongoing health studies find time and again that the quality of human relationships--how many and what depth of friendship--is the overall governing factor in health and healing.
Fresh religion has throughout history instructed mankind to love one another. The Bah' Faith is no different: "Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving kindness for all who may cross your path." 'Abdu'l-Bah,
Paris Talks, p. 15
