Truly inspired by Lisa's email and Jilly's post, I will throw this out there because I would love to utilize a new social tool, but career training and job search...mmm... any ideas on how I might use PInterest for these?

Any brainstorming ideas would be truly appreciatd.!

Motivational mini-posters, with inspiring quotes for people to find work or be their personal best - you could use famous quotes even.

Captioned photos of obviously happy, satisfied people in gratifying, fulfilling, or in-demand jobs.
Examples - non-profit worker with a caption to the effect of "I needed help once, now i am paying it forward", a teacher who is smiling and obviously happy with any one of thousand things that make teaching sound fulfilling,

I was going to say the same thing Lisa. There is a lot of inspirational images avaiable to share.

Also pictures of the good things in life one gets with job security. Or of retirement dreams - island vacations, sailboating around the world, retiring on a hobby farm...

I went to sign up this morning and it said invitation only but we can request to join, but in the mean time we could look around. I clicked on the "look around" but it just took me back to the home screen, I received an email that said thank you for requesting to join, and another button to click to look around, which took me back to the login page for which I do not have a logon. Does anyone know the time frame or qualifications for acceptance?

Billions of tips on ways to overcome specific issues at the job. People who hit that issue will forward it to all their friends. Also praise for specific jobs. Nurses love to forward around pro-nurse items, and so on.

Within a few days you should get an email telling you that you can join.

Also humor / cartoons that are related to specific jobs. People love to forward those around

These are great ideas. Thank you. I finally got my invite and was on it for a little bit today trying to figure it out.

Now, if someone has instructions = that would be great! I just need to spend more time figuring out what I'm supposed to do. Do I take pictures and upload or find other stuff on the Internet and pin those.

I was worried earlier because I was on my desktop and was unable to register, but was successful when I tried on my laptop.

It's a busy site! Wonderful ideas! Anyone creating an e-book on this? I'd buy it! Hint--hint!

I really need to step up my efforts with both sites, I think they have a ton of potential - it's about getting myself organizaed to do so.

Dianne - you set up categories you're interested in. Then you both repin other peoples' pictures, you pin pictures you find on the web, and you pin your own pictures. They need to be very visually appealing in all cases. It's the visual appeal that matters. So if you make them yourself, make sure you either invest the time to make them nice or you get someone to help you with that, for the best results.
