I'd like to try that. It seems like a decent appliance.

Sometimes I use a plastic home depot type bucket with a clean plunger and some laundry soap. It works pretty well. The plunger agitates the cloths nicely.

I am using my wonderwash right now. I got it for $10 at goodwill, and it works extremely well. My clothes get super clean with a minimal amount of water and detergent. Since i use so little detergent, I only need one rinse cycle.

And then i add the used water to my fruit trees.

Just now i filled up the Wonderwash to the inside fill line with clothes and water, and a tablespoon of detergent. I agitated inside the bucket with my hand a few times, and then let the whole thing sit for a half an hour.

I about going to head back outside and do my agitation cycle.

I love this thing.

Ta da! I finished my laundry and everything is hanging up to dry. In AZ nothing has to hang for long. smile

I used water from the rain barrel for each cycle and it was really fun. Everything is very clean.

Just for the sake of completeness, my other notes on cleaning clothes without electricity are here. I do describe the learning curve to using the Wonder Wash, and there is some talk about the plunger system and washboards. Also what jeanne used to do for clothes washing in the peace corps in Africa.
