Do you read any knit lit novels? What titles are among your favorites, or least favorites? What is it about knit lit that you enjoy?

On my next trip to the public library, i was planning pond hacking out a few of these novels. The Beach Street Knitting society and Yarn Club and the Sweetgum Ladies Knit for Love are both novels that I plan to take a look at. Who knows what else I will find?

Oh, yes, knitters are being featured in a lot of the mystery novels I read. The days of knitting needles being only for the stereotype extras seem to be gone, LOL. Of course, I can't remember a single title just at the moment, but the librarians will know. Miss Marple was always knitting in Agatha Christie's novels, but newer books often include patterns! Debbie Macomber's Good Yarn series, for instance.

Oh, patterns, too! I love it! I will see about getting started on Macomber when I head to the library as well.
I think the idea behind having characters who knit is to allow the reader to be able to identify with them more. Even if the reader isn't a knitter, many women have crafts and hobbies they are passionate about.
I forgot about Miss Marple - my Mom read a lot of Agatha Chrisitie when I was young.
Wondering what else I should add to my to-read-pile!

I like Debbie Macomber's Blossom street books a lot. I love the cozy mystery type books so I'll check out those other authors. I love the Joanne Fluke mysteries. She's a cookie baker, not a knitter but her books are packed with luscious sounding cookie recipes. I swear I can smell chocolate chip cookies every time I read one.

I am waiting for the "Yarn Shop on Blossom Street", it is on order from another library. I am looking forward to trying some of Macomber's work!
