Scotland has seven cities. Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness climb Scotland�s eastern shores. Glasgow, to the west, is a gateway to some of the country�s wild and beautiful western islands, including flights to the Isle of Barra, where you land on the beach.

I've only seen Edinburch, but it was great and the people very friendly. In fact, it's the only UK city I've seen. I hope to see more one day.

My daughter's college roommate last year is a student at Aberdeen. I'm sure my daughter will visit her there while she is studying in France this semester.

I think Edinburgh's a lovely city, Nick. It's got a huge sense of history, good shopping and as you say freindly people. If your daughter visits Aberdeen she might want to think about whether she has time to visit other Scottish cities at the same time (several are accessbible by public transport from Aberdeen), as the oppportunity might not come up again for a long time...
