I save all my little containers - small glass jars, vitamin bottles, spices bottles and especially prescription containers. I love reusing my prescription containers for everything!
They hold:
-spices
-rubber bands
-paper clips
-staples
-twist ties
-thumbtacks
-coins i am saving
-Screws/nails/washers/any random tool thing
-they hold my rings and necklaces when traveling
-I put my vitamins on them when traveling
-extra bits of food that are too small to waste a tupperware on (esp the bigger prescription bottles)
-travel containers for toiletries like toothpaste, shampoo, facial scrub, baby powder
-sewing needles
-things that need to be waterproofed when camping, like matches or cottonball/laundry lint/birch bark firestarters
-scrapbooking bits and bobs
they work as small water containers for cleaning watercolor from art paintbrushes
-Holding buttons or zippers or other sewing notions
-good homes for smaller rubber stamps
-they can hold glue if your glue bottle breaks
-I suspect they can become toys for toddlers if you have enough of them, like lightweight blocks
I just make a notation on the cap of what is inside and put them in my desk drawers or in the pantry/bathroom/tool box/wherever.
Diatomaceous earth is perfect in empty plastic spice containers - it makes shaking the dust super easy and relatively clean.
Dehydrated fruits and veggies in small amounts go well in these too, as you can see what's inside quite easily.
Herbs from bulk bins store nicely in them.
Any other ideas? What do you do with these containers besides recycle them?
