Now, I'm not demanding you tell me because "everyone should have kids and you HAVE to explain yourself if you stray from the norm" (because that's just stupid), but I do realize that everyone has their own unique reasons as to why they choose to remain child-free. So, what're yours? Give your reasons in a child-free environment where your opinions won't be challenged :) For me personally, it's partly a feeling of guilt (why would you bring a child into the world when there's millions of other children out there that NEED loving homes? If I wanted kids, I would definitely adopt.), and an intense desire to NOT raise a child from infancy. Because really, babies are just... gross (for lack of a better word.)

Living Without Children - Automated Note
For New Visitors: This forum exists as a support community for people who are living a child-free existence. This area is here to help nurture, inspire and educate those who, for whatever reason, are living their lives without children in the home.

Posts made here must be supportive of this lifestyle choice. Comments should not question a person's decision to or reasons for being child free. The list of reasons would be too long to get into. Sometimes I counter people with, "the only reasons we could think of to have kids would be to see if we could get a redhead (my husband's a redhead and I'm a carrier of the gene) and to get my in-laws to like me."

Neither of these seemed like good reasons to ACTUALLY reproduce. Although, I'm sure others have had babies for more trivial reasons. So, yeah, no kids for us smile

Um...I like sleep and disposable income?

Hehe...my response to the all popular "It will be different when its your own child..." is "What if its not? Then I'm stuck with this jerk I hate for 18 years."

I tell people I am too selfish to have children, and then they leave me alone about it. smile

#38. It should say this: I won't need to worry about having Post Partum Depression; child-free life is the anti-depressant! 40. It should say this: No whining and moaning that my partner won't work and all the financial burden is on me.
