My cats are having a great summer. They bring in live grasshoppers, baby birds and baby snakes. It upsets me while they torment these critters to death. By the time they bring them in they are fatally bitten, so I don't intervene, but it's still disturbing.
I know cats will be cats, but still. Do you get used to this?

No, but I read recently not to give them a hard time, because they might not bring it to you...and that would mean they might hide it somewhere you'd least suspect or want. Don't need these things to go unnoticed.

Yeah, giving them a hard time won't help matters. They are so deliriously happy when they bring in their new 'toys.'
Blech.

They are gifting it to you because you are so special...isn't it so endearing?

Here's something worse than blech...one of our cats in love with our first born who was about 3 years old, left a dead mouse under her seat at the table. She found it after we got home and held it up by the tail asking what it was.
There's a picture every mom wants to see.

My cat used to do the same things. Many times just because of her my neighbors used to shout on me. Now she is no more but i still miss her and her activities.

Creditreport, I am so sorry about you missing your sweet kitty.
The cats brought in a ton of tiny snakes this week to torture, plus a decent sized lizard.
I guess this will be going on all summer. Blech. Little killers.
