Deanna found this cool article about a guy who builds these micro shelters that are really just places to sleep, but still have a charm. These would be nice for backyard shelters, ice houses, a 'guest bedroom' and for people on a severely tight budget who would otherwise have no home at all:

I love these. Gives me great ideas for play cubbies the kids. I like the first one. I could do two side-by-side for them.

I just had this idea of having five of the little long ones all rounded up in a circle in someone's backyard, centered around a fire pit. Each one could be decorated in a different theme, or belong to someone specific in the family, plus a few 'guest' cabins.

If someone had a wooded area on their property, think how cool this could be for each summer.

I was just thinking that one of these might make an interesting dog or cat house.

What if someone came during the night and tipped your house over? I do not mind living in a small cottage, but these tiny homes are a bit .... uhmm...tiny.

House tipping is a federal offense, right?

yeah, these are seriously teeny. But i can see there might be cute little uses. How about building one in a tree?

I just found even tinier living spaces. These Hong Kong apartments are really just sleeping cubicles -

It's sort of satire, except that you get to see what actual cubicle dwellings are for comparison at the end of the video, as compared with the 'model home' shown in the feature.

I could do that if i had to, but only because there is a window. In the 'real one' we see, there is no window, and at that point, it really is just for sleeping and not for 'sipping wine and enjoying the seasons.'

I did find it cute that residents dress in formal clothes to show their status.
