I wonder what happens to existing pet monkeys if the law changes. This has been a very informative series comparing different pets. A lot of things are brought up that you wouldn't necessarily think of.

I assume they will be grandfathered into the new laws. At least I hope they are. There has been talk about euthanizing existing monkeys but the government is unpopular enough without doing something so cruel and horrible. At least in front of the public.

Diana, you always give us great information and a lot to think about. A person would have to be incredibly dedicated to their monkey to do a good job with it. As you know, I am a pet person, but I think that a monkey would be beyond my capacity to provide a stimulating and nurturing environment.

Hey Connie good to see your smiling thoughts I miss you! I know that I wouldn't be able to supply the needs of a monkey. Their needs would be harder to give than a human child. At least with a human child I would have more of an idea of what those needs would be. It would be very hard indeed to give a monkey a nurturing environment; especially social needs. Think of the huge financial responsibility, especially veterinarian bills.
