I am currently at Samford University in Birmingham, AL for their weeklong IGHR Genealogy week. I can only do about 1-2 things like this out of town, but well worth the expense.
I am learning so much. I am taking their African American classes this year. It is a great educational week full of learning and networking with other genealogists who understand your passion.
I am also lucky that I am able to attend in October 2012 the Forensic Genealogy Institute in Dallas, Texas. This is a new topic for me and I hope to gain a better understanding of that subject to apply to my research.
Do you have a place you were able to attend this year? a lecture? a class? I have never been able to attend to conference such as NGS or FGS, but hopefully one day I will be able to.
Will write more when I return home.
