It might be a little more work, but I have made the dough in a gift from my mum (KitchenAid Mixer), putting the dough into a greased bowl, cover with Saran Wrap or similar, and let rise, punch down and rise again...take a couple hours in a warm sunny place.

Same great results, a little more "arm" power...just think, you can work your biceps and get dinner in one!
