I've been smacked with checking account bills the last two month - i think they are like 5 or 6 dollars each. Usually i have $50 go automatically into savings and then put it back to keep the monthly fees away, but the last two months I didn't have enough in the checking to cover the $50.

I will put this under the category of late fees, even though it's really just a Stupid Bank Fee. I need to figure out a workaround. That's ten or $12 i lost for absolutely no gain. A bag of cat food and a magazine!

I'm late responding to this one, but in fact, yes, paying your bills 1/2 and 1/2 can lower your interests. Some banks have decided that they would prefer not to lose out on that extra interest so, they make you pay the interest first. Call in to find out how that 1/2 and 1/2 payment will benefit you. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I hate late fees and rarely have a problem. I even hate service fees and only like my husband to deposit or take out money at the credit union so we don't pay fees to other banks.
