I'm going to go home and get my homemade Kvass for you all to try. I am proud of it. You don't have to drink it, but at least smell it - smells like bread. Like a bread soda.

It's one of these things everyone across time used to drink, and we've totally forgotten about. Except in Russia.

What is Kvass, Jilly? I know it is made from bread, but I did not know it is a drink. What does it taste like?

From what Jilly has said on her Frugal forum, Kvass comes from Russia and is a lightly fermented light beer or ale. She is making it herself from stale bread and enjoying the taste of it. Go Jilly!
