I do not think you sound selfish at all. So many of us are a part of our faiths because our families or friends are of that faith and we simply know of nothing else/better. Staying true to your faith and honoring it because of your experiences and intuitive connections to it are honorable reasons to hold tight.

I love to learn more about religions and faiths. I enjoy getting an understanding for why people indulge especially, when the indulger indulges because of life experiences that bought them peace and light.
