Another 'detox' tidbit I'd like to share is about alcohol. After drinking it, our liver has to filter it. Studies show that drinking can increase our risk for certain maladies. So why not save the spirits for celebrations?
Instead do what a girlfriend of mine does. She serves chilled herb teas when we visit her. I never knew they could be so delicious. My sister also drinks sparkling water dashed with fruit juice --bubbly!

I'm new here but I'd just like to say that that is great advice - especially the part about eating before eating out - once I learned that trick I've done it every time - it's not only helpful for dieting, it means you can socialize when you arrive instead of running straight for the hors d'oeuvres:)
