Wow! I am impressed. It has been a while since I've been to Bella... always have to start a new username because I forget the old or how to log in. Anyway, library science forum! That's awesome!! I am an associate librarian! I've been working in libraries since I was 15 (35 now), and I am finishing up my bachelors in December and then starting in on my masters next year, in library science. I am interested in youth services. Nice to meet all of you!

Fantastic! I just finished my MSLIS (my second career). I highly recommend it. If you don't mind my asking, what's your Bachelor's in? I'm always interested in how people come to the profession. In my experience it is rare that people decide early on to become librarians. Usually they come to it after having a different career first.

Welcome and good luck with your Master's program!

Being a librarian has always seemed like a dream job to me. But I'd have a major problem with all those books to read and too little time. It'd be worse than working in a candy store.

Oh my - it is just like that. My first six months, I injured my shoulder from carrying home dozens of books every week. I had to limit myself. I have to say I haven't bought one book since...or magazine for that matter. We have well over 100 subscriptions at the public library where I work. Heaven!
