My daughter and I have been having this discussion a lot recently concerning the Disney classics. We used to have them on VHS, but when the kids got older and VHS went away, the movies were eventually thrown away. Now that she has a son, we've been looking for these movies and noticed that some are not easy to find - nor are they cheap, even in used book stores.

Disney has an excellent "marketing" tool by putting these "away in the vault" so we are debating if there really vault or is it just a really good Disney marketing ploy?

I don't know if there is an actual vault (which I pretty much doubt) but certainly Disney will withhold titles from the current market.

When they say "Limited Release" they mean it.

LOL...yes we were enjoying the image of the big Disney Vault. An excellent marketing piece. I don't see many of the newer movies ever making that "limited release". Disney has definitely changed. It's still my favorite place on earth though ;-)
