Jilly, I think Granpappy thinks you're cute. He usually ignores all guests and just sits in his rocker on the porch.

Beetle seems to be the only one who can handle Granpappy when he gets out of hand.

I am great friends with a cowboy. He is retired now from riding because he has taken one too many tumbles off of horses while training them. This great cowboy has aches and pains like nobody's business, but he sure can tell a good story.

Cowboys are very special indeed. Wouldn't mind finding a nice one some day for myself.....

I don't know if you can find a cowboy who likes hiking. Many of them are too busy with other chores around the ranch. By the time they are done for the day they are pretty tuckered out. After dinner all they want to do is go hang out by the fire, or on occasion go into town for a cold beverage and a little dancing, if you are lucky. Them cowboys work hard.

Think we ought to invite some of these great guys to the front porch for a little supper one night when they are done with their chores? We might get a few good stories out of them. I've heard they are not all that fussy and will eat just about anything we put out. They have good appetites though.....

Dayum... Have me wishin' that I was stopping by the porch after rounding up cattle in a helicopter.... vittles & fiddle. BTW - I would think that hiking around in pointy-toed, mid-calf, no-strings attached footwear would be killer on the dawgs.
