I thought I would try to distill my ideas about spirituality in my own thread. I encourage others to start thread on theirs.
Comments are most certainly welcome.
For me, i find the most connection to the universe in nature. I like to be alone or with a few good friends in nature, but not responsible for anyone but myself. When i was guiding wilderness trips I never felt spiritual.
I love to be walking, hiking, paddling, backpacking, rock climbing, caving or even just sitting down in a pretty spot. I like being near the water, near red rocks, on granite rocks, in canyons, in mountains, or anywhere there is an expansive view.
I also feel a nice sense of connectedness when meditating outdoors, or when doing yoga anywhere.
I do not make time for those last things enough.
I feel that truths are subjective, except maybe for math.
I feel i have a purpose, but i am no longer in a hurry for it to get here. It's about living green and frugally and simple and sharing in the joy of wanting less.
I don't think there is a deity or creator, but am open to the idea of it. It doesn't make sense to me, but i could be totally wrong.
I do enjoy sitting in old churches or missions and quietly praying. I just don't do it to a god.
I want to be serene and accepting. Those are the goals i want to seek as i develop wisdom.
AND speaking of wisdom, I am learning to pick my battles. This one is crucial for me.
I have a lot more to say, but am going for a little walk around the garden right now.
