Phyllis, i DO love Seattle and loved living there, but the grey skies just about killed my soul. Rainier is gorgeous, though.

I live near some volcanoes here in mid-northern AZ. And I do love the desert and the red rocks here. I will take stake my claim on them for all Ariens!

I have often found just going to the ocean to be really peaceful. I also feel the same peace in some of the higher altitude mountains and hills I have been to. The ocean around Kodiak Island is beautiful. I could stare at the ocean waves off Florence, Oregon for hours.
I don't think I have ever been to any of the places that are considered "high-energy". for those of you who are energy-sensitive, are they really different than places rich with natural beauty?

To me yes, although they often correspond. But also, what is beautiful to one person may not be to another. I personally love the desert, and my personal favorite sacred places are in the U.S. desert southwest - radiating around the Grand Canyon and the Utah canyon country. I find these places both beautiful and tremendously powerful, but other people I know find it barren and forbidding. So not everyone finds the same places beautiful. And not everyone connects with the same places energetically - a lot of it has to do with an energetic resonance, as we each have our own energetic make-up as well, on the subtle body level.

I also think different places have different kinds of powerful energies. Some are very joyful, others very healing, some are very power-oriented, while others are places of 'seeing' - they have a clarity to them. We pick up on these vibrations based on our own proclivities.

This is really cool to think about. I am going to look up and see if there are any places that are considered high-energy within reasonable car traveling distance from where I live. If so, it might be worth a trip to see how it feels.

Living near Sedona, I get a lot of people talking about vortexes. I've been to i think all of them. They are nice, but really all of Sedona is amazing and feels good.

I am not discounting the possible power of the vortex, but i don't feel anything special in one spot vs another in that area of red rocks.

I feel a sense of power there, like a gentle, calming happiness. I also feel that in many places in Utah and at Joshua Tree Park.

For a feeling of deep awes-inspiring power, I get that at Zion Park, the Grand Canyon and in Lake Powell.

I can't say if there is anything inherently spiritual about those places, or whether it's my personal translation of how i feel when there.

Dear Jilly,

You say;I can't say if there is anything inherently spiritual about those places, or whether it's my personal translation of how i feel when there.

That is spirituality at it's best.
