Celilo Falls and Other Lost Fisheries

So much was taken from the tribes, a whole way of life, when the dams were built.

When I first started at BellaOnline as an editor, I wrote an article about the Columbia River and the issues facing the tribes that have lived along the river for generations. It was their livelihood, their way of life, their sustaining source for food. To see their fisheries and way of life destroyed is so sad.
